Hello everybody!

We are 3 people looking for a room from 28th of March until the 1st of April in Kyoto. We even looked in Osaka, Nara, Kobe, Nagoya,... because we want to move around in this area but as it is the golden week, everything is fully booked.

Does anyone know where we could stay?
We never imagined it would be so hard to find an hotel in last minute.

Thank you so much,

Eliott

Hey,
I went on that page some days ago. Didn't helped though. We looked in other cities and the websites they suggest give no result.

Thanks anyway!

Hello there,

Could you tell me what dates, budget and other wises you are looking for?

Let me know and I'll see what can be found, I find it somewhat unlikely that everything is booked :)

Hi Daniel-san!
Thank you very much for your message.

We are looking for a room from 28.03 to 03.04 in Kyoto (or around - Osaka, Nara,..) for 3 peoples.
We are expecting something around 100-150 $ per night for the 3 of us but less is always welcome and we could manage to put a little extra for something nice.

Ryokan would be great but our expectation are lower. Any nice-looking hotel should do it!

We really appreciate your help!
Thank you

Eliott

PS: We obviously have the Japan Rail, so anywhere near a JR station is good for us.

Hello,

Have you tried all hotel sites? I usually book at booking.com or you could try at Japanican.com and expedia.com .. Airbnb is also a good choice for apartment rental, although there aren't much options in the osaka/kyoto area..
Also, be expecting to pay quite a lot per night. It is indeed very crowded in Japan around those dates (But golden week isn't right now, it only starts late april/beggining may) and hotels are filling up.
Hope this helped somehow.

Hello Elliot,

I've had a look at most major and minor booking websites and it is indeed hard to find anything at all, something I had not expected. I Have truly no idea what could be the cause, expect for the Sakura.

Since Kyoto is off the table, I'd advise looking at alternatives. Especially places that are on the Shinkansen - since you can use the JR Pass to travel on them at any time. So I did a couple of searches on nearby hotels for the period specified for 3 persons / 7 days and it was pretty hard to find anything to match to these criteria.

My advise would to try and look for a shorter period of time in a hotel 3 or 4 days or maybe even less and change hotels once or twice, this makes it easier to find availability.

Do you want one room for the 3 of you or separate rooms?

Hi Eliott,

you might want to camp at booking.com or any other hotel reservation sites to reserve a room. I managed to book my accomodations by constantly trying as there will be people cancelling.

Like what Daniel-san suggested, it might be easier to change your search to 1-2 nights and change hotels as many hotels has been fully since Jan.

Alternatively, you can try to book for accomodations via JTB, but it might be more expensive.

Good luck!
