JR pass or single trip ticket

Hi,

Can you please advise me whether to purchase the14 Day JR pass, or is it more worth it to get 7 Day JR pass + single ticket trips. Below is my itinerary:

23 Sep: Arrive in Narita at 8 am. Will travel straight o Hiroshima.
24 Sep: Hiroshima
25 Sep: 1/2 day Miyajima then travel to Kyoto.
26-28 Sep: Kyoto
29 Sep: Nara day trip. Travel to Nagoya in the evening
30 Sep: Nagoya
1 Oct: Travel from Nagoya to Tokyo
2-3 Oct: Tokyo
4 Oct: Hakone
5-6 Oct: Tokyo
7 Oct: Depart from Narita in the morning.

Thank you for your assistance!

Hello Maybelle,

I think the best option would be to buy a 7 day JR pass and use normal tickets for the remaining of of your trip. Travel around Tokyo and Hakone is relatively low cost and you would not make savings using a 14 day JR Pass.

For travel to Hakone, you could look at a Hakone Free pass.

Hope this helps,

Hi Daniel,

Thank you so much for your advice.
So I guess I should activate the JR pass on 23 Sep since the cost to travel from Narita to Hiroshima is very high?

Yes, that is what I would do :)

Kind regards,
Daniel

Hello Daniel,

Apologies for an unrelated question.
I was just wondering whether it would too rush to explore both Hiroshima and Rabbit Island at Okunoshima on 24 Sep??

Thanks for your help in advance! (:
