When JR pass gets activatedI would rather ask. When does JR pass gets activated? When I buy it and choose the date it's valid for 3 moths but i.e 3 weeks JR pass gets activated when they stamp it on the first day on train station. Am I right? Thanks for answer! |

Hi Gordon, You can activate/exchange your JR Pass in Japan anytime up to 3 months from the date of purchase. On activation you must specify an exact starting date for your validity period anytime within the following 1 month. So rather than the JR Pass being activated by a stamp on the first day, you must choose the exact starting date for your intended validity period when you activate it in Japan.
