Would appreciate any help with my travel plans:

Fly into Haneda
Two days in tokyo
Day trip to Nikko
Day trip to Kamakura

Leave Kamakura
Arrive Kyoto
Three days in Kyoto
Day trip to Nara
Back to Tokyo (Haneda airport)

Any suggestions as far as order and should I get 7 day pass or just buy individual ticket.

Any help is appreciated.

I think your order is looking pretty good!

As a 7 day JR Pass is ¥28,300, you need to spend more than that on JR tickets to make purchasing one worthwhile. Based on your itinerary, here are your costs:

Tokyo > Nikko: ¥5230, (121mins, 150km)
Nikko > Tokyo: ¥5230, (117mins, 150km)
Tokyo > Kamakura: ¥1700, (48mins, 51km)
Kamakura > Kyoto: ¥12070, (185mins, 471km)
Kyoto > Nara: ¥690, (45mins, 41km)
Nara > Kyoto: ¥690, (44mins, 41km)
Kyoto > Tokyo: ¥13020, (161mins, 513km)

TOTAL: ¥38630 for 7 legs

As you can see, you'll make savings of ¥10,330 with a 7 day Japan Rail Pass so I can certainly recommend this option for your trip.

Please note that the trip from Tokyo to Haneda is around ¥800 each way, so you could also include this in your costs if you manage to fit your whole trip into 7 days.
