Hi,

I'm travelling to japan this coming November 2016.

My inital itinerary as per below:

Day 1 -3 tokyo
Day 4 Lake Kawaguchi
Day 5 - 8 Kyoto
Day 8 - 11 Osaka.

Is it worth it to using JR 7 Day Pass, or i can buy the normal ticket travelling across the places.

Thanks

Hi there,

It depends what you will do after Osaka, if you return to Tokyo then a 7 day JR Pass could be worth considering.

If you fly out of, or stay longer in Osaka, then buying normal train tickets is the better option.

You can also find the cost of any trip via our Fare Calculator

Hope this helps,
Daniel

Hi Daniel,

Sorry, few more questions. I jz surf the internet, mentioned that, if we travel using single ticket from tokyo to osaka kansai airport by Shinkansen, we can have stopover at kyoto and osaka station, am I right? And the validity of the single ticket is based on the distance of the trip, such as 200km is valid for 2 days and so on?

And if I travel Hikari/ Nozomi Shinkansen, does it have any extra space for me to put our luggage.
Or Is there any luggage size limitation?

Thank you.

June

Hi June,

And the validity of the single ticket is based on the distance of the trip, such as 200km is valid for 2 days and so on?
I believe this is limited to 1 day but I am not completely sure. It may be worth double checking with JR.

There is luggage space in the overhead compartments and suitcases can be placed at the end of each train car.

The guidelines for luggage are: You may bring up to two pieces of baggage on board free of charge. For each bag the total of the length, width and height must not exceed 250 centimeters, the length must not exceed two meters and the weight must be no more than 30 kilograms. this however is not as strictly enforced as it is on airlines.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
