I would like to know how to use JR pass to get to Osaka from Tokyo Station/Shinjuku Station.

Does JR pass discontinue after June 30, 2016 as I read from JR East website?

Hi there,

You can use the Shinkansen directly from Tokyo to Shin-Osaka station. From Shin-Osaka local trains run into the city.

The JR East website us referring to the (old) JR East Pass/Kanto Pass. There are no plans to discontinue the JR Pass.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
