Hi, Daniel San
My hotel is in Kyoto.
I intend to go toOsaka and to come back in the same day ( Kyoto/Osaka/Kyoto ) and I apprecciate if you send me the train' schedule for September 18. I have bought my JRP 1st class.

I need to reserve my seat in the train ? If yes, do I have to pay for it? If yes,how much does it cost?

Many thanks in advance for your answers.

Hi Ronaldo,

Travel between Osaka and Kyoto is very easy. You can take the Shinkaizoku service between both stations which takes less than 30 minutes. Trains depart every 10 minutes are need reservations are not possible.

It is also possible to take the Shinkansen (bullet train) from Kyoto to Shin-Osaka, which is travel in more comfort but it generally takes a bit more time because you'll have to use a local train to travel from Shin-Osaka station into the city.
Shinkansen reservations are completely free with the JR Pass.

Hope this helps!
Daniel
