Hihi...

Will be purchasing a 7Day JR Pass for my trip to Osaka, Tokyo & Kyoto.
Below is the 1day itinerary plan in Kyoto:

  • Arashiyama
  • Kiyomizudera
  • Gion
  • Kawaramachi

Other than Arashiyama, the rest of the places aren't accessible by JR train. May i know how to access to these places?
Are they covered by JR buses?

Hi there!

The best way to visit these places is by bus. Kyoto has a very good bus system with departures every couple of minutes. It is easy to access all these places but the right bus number depends on where you get on the bus.

To find more information about buses in Kyoto, view this website. It also has a great map on the bottom which is a great help for looking up bus numbers.

Buses are run by the Kyoto City itself and don't accept the JR Pass. However a 500yen all day ticket is available.

I hope this helps!
Daniel
