Hi

I have never travelled to Japan before but I am due to arrive next week and wanted to know if someone could help me with train passes etc. So I am travelling to Tokyo-Hakuba-Cortina-Tokyo, I would like to know if it would be more cost effective to get a train pass if applicable or just buy tickets per trip? My other question is if I travel Tokyo-Osaka-Tokyo and have a pass isd this trip also included?

Thank you

If you do that trip within 7 days, 7 day JR Pass is much cheaper than individual tickets

Hi there,

I would also suggest buying normal tickets if you travel to Hakuba/Cortina and Tokyo. However a 7 day JR Pass can be very helpful if you do make the return trip Osaka - Tokyo within 7 days. As a 7 day JR Pass is nearly the same price as a normal return ticket alone.

The JR Pass does cover between all these places!
