Hi,

it's me again, I've been working on my itinerary, as I am leaving in one week already.

I still have a problem finding the easiest or the cheapest way to get to Mt Fuji. Could you please give me advice on that?

Another problem seems to be getting from Mt Fuji to Takayama, what about this?

And the last question is, I have one more day on the way back to Tokyo, can I make it from Nagoya to Ise Shima and back in one day?

Thanks a lot for your help, this forum seems to be working really good.

Hi Again!

I see that you have been busy ;)

I would recommend reading the Wiki travel page about traveling to Fuji as it has a lot of information available. It is always hard to give advice on what route is best to Fuji as ''Fuji'' is not just museum in one stop but consists of many areas, all with different routes. The most popular (and perhaps beautiful) area is Fuji five Lakes. Access to this area is either done by direct highway bus from Tokyo station or Shinjuku and costs 1700 yen or you can take the JR to Otsuki (covered by the JR Pass) and transfer here to the privately owned Fujikyu lines which is 1,100Yen.

To Takayama, I would simply take the bus/train back to Tokyo station, board to Shinkansen from there and travel to Takayama via a transfer at Nagoya station. Here is an example route.

As for your last question, travel time from Nagoya to Ise-shi is about 90 minutes so you can certainly do visit it for a day and make your way back to Tokyo in the evening. Just be sure to plan your day's time table ahead, so you don't get stuck somewhere!

Have a pleasant journey!
Daniel

Hi,

thanks for your reply. I meant Kawaguchiko 5th station, that's the place that I want to climb from. How can I get there?

Yes, I found this route from Kawaguchiko to Takayama too. It looks very far, do you think that it's doable the day I will come back from the overnight climb? I wanted to finish the climb and go straight to Takayama...

Hi Again!

I think the smartest way to travel to Kawaguchiko 5th station, is to take the bus from Shinjuku which travels there directly.

As from Kawaguchiko - Takayama. The route can take up to 7 hours so you should ask yourself if you find it worth it. Than again, you are coming from a nights stay at Fuji, so you could catch some shuteye on the train. You could of course make a stop over at Nagoya and travel on the next morning.
