  1. How to i get to Osaka from Shibuya station? (i will be staying that area)

  2. Do i have to take the subway to tokyo station in order to take shinkansen? or can i actually take the subway to Shinagawa station and transfer to shinkansen which is actually nearer to us?

  3. How long is the journey from Shibuya to Osaka?

  4. How to i get to Kyoto from JR Namba?

  5. How long is the journey from Osaka to Kyoto?

  6. What is the operating hours for shinkansen? What is the interval in between each train?

  7. If i want to purchase an IC card to take subway that JR doesn't go.. In Tokyo i can purchase SUICA card right?
So what about Osaka and Kyoto?

Thank you very much!

Hi there,

1 & 2.)You can use the JR Yamanote line from Shibuya station to either Tokyo or Shinagawa station. The next step is to ride the Shinkansen to Shinkansen and take a local train from there into Osaka city. The route is completely covered by the JR Pass. Here is an example route.

3.) About 210 minutes

4.) Here is the route Kyoto - JR-Namba.

5.) About 30 minutes, it's a direct connection.

6.) Roughly between 6 a.m. in the morning and midnight. Keep in mind that the last train will stop at midnight (and not depart). Trains depart at least every 30 minutes.

7.) The Suica card is valid everywhere in Japan where IC cards can be used. So you can carry it with you to Kyoto/Osaka, or buy the local IC card of Kansai named ICOCA.

Hope this helps!
Daniel
