Is it worth getting the JR 14 days pass if I would like to spend 6 days in Tokyo, 5 days in Osaka and 3 days in Kyoto? Which order of travel is more cost effective?

Hi there,

A 7 day JR Pass would perfect if you can make the return Tokyo - Osaka - Kyoto within 7 days, however you'd have to do a little more travel in order for a 14 day JR Pass to pay off. You could for instance add a side trip to Hiroshima and Miyajima. This would more than pay for the pass.

You can use the JR Pass Fare Calculator to find an approximate ticket cost of a single route or even your full itinerary.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
