Hi,
I've already bought the JR pass, and I will go to shirakawa-go through Kanazawa route.
I'm looking at SHINKANSEN KAGAYAKI that departs from Tokyo, is it covered by the JR pass? Should I make a reservation first? And where do I make a reservation if it is needed?
Thanks

Hello there,

Yes and yes! As in, the Kagayaki train is fully covered by the JR Pass and yes a prior reservation is required for this train. You can make a reservation at any JR station or through JR East

Hope this helps,
Daniel
