Hello,

I would love your advice on whether to get a 7 or 14 day JR Pass for the following itinerary.

Arrive Narita
Tokyo 5 nights (sightseeing includes Disneyland, fish market, and other popular sights)
Hakone 1 night
Takayama 1 night
Kyoto 3 nights (side trip to Nara)
Tokyo 3 nights (another day in Disneyland, Tokyo Dome, possible day trip to Nikko)

Thank you for this forum. It's been very helpful.

Hi Fiona,

I definitely recommend using a 7 day JR Pass for travel from Tokyo - Takayama - Kyoto - Tokyo. This route costs the most by far and it is great using a JR Pass here. Local travel within Tokyo does not cost much compared to cross country travel, so you are fine buying local tickets there.

For Nikko, be sure to visit this while your JR Pass is still valid, as it can be costly without using one.

The rest looks great!
Daniel
