Hello!

I am going to Japan in Oct and it's my first time.
Could you please advise if I should get a JR pass for the above itinerary?

Thank you!

Hi there,

It depends on how many days you spend in each place but I do advise a 7 day JR Pass if you can make the return to Tokyo in that time period.

Hope this helps,
Daniel

Thanks Daniel!

I spending 8days in japan.

My rough itinerary is as follow:
Day 1 - Narita airport - Tokyo
Day 2 - Hakone (day trip)
Day 3 - Osaka/Kyoto
Day 4 - Osaka/Kyoto
Day 5 to 8 - Tokyo

1) May i know if the itinerary is feasible?

Hi again!

Yes, this itinerary is feasible and the JR Pass will works well for your itinerary. To get the best use out of a a 7 day JR Pass, consider using it from Day 1 to day 7.

A little note on Hakone, you can use the JR Pass to travel there by Bullet train. To do so, take the Shinkansen from Tokyo to Odawara station. From there local non-JR transport runs throughout the Hakone area.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
