Takayama-Hokuriku Area tourist pass

Hi,
I would like to enquire if it is worthwhile for me to purchase the Takayama-Hokuriku Area Tourist pass for this itinerary:
16/12 travelling from Osaka to Takayama
17/12 travelling from Takayama to Shirakawa and staying a Ryokan there
18/12 travelling from Shirakawa to Kanazawa. Touring Kanazawa
19/12 touring Kanazawa and travelling to Osaka Kansai Airport by evening

thank you

Hello there,

Yes this would be possible with the Hokuriku pass. However you should know that you will have to travel to Takayama via Kanazawa then take the bus to Shirakawago and then an other bus to Takayama. Then when you travel back you will travel the same route, this will add a lot of extra travel time. However you would make good savings over normal tickets.

Hope this helps,
Daniel

Hi Kitty,

You could use the Pass for this itinerary, however you can't use the JR to travel directly from Nagoya to Kanazawa by JR and you would have to travel to Takayama first, then take the bus to Shirakawago and then an other bus to Kanazawa. However the area pass would cover the route if you did it that way.
