Hi there!

Could you let me know which airports you plan on flying into and out from?

in from Osaka but already have a shuttle organised to and from airports
out fromTokyo

Hi there!

I think individual tickets will make most sense for you rather than a 14 day rail pass, but just to check lets see the costs of your travel:

  1. Osaka > Kyoto: ¥540 (29mins, 42km)
  2. Kyoto > Nara: ¥690 (44mins, 41km)
  3. Nara > Kyoto: ¥690 (44mins, 41km)
  4. Kyoto > Shinjuku(jr): ¥13,220 (184mins, 517km)
  5. Shinjuku(jr) > Odawara: ¥3,640 (60mins, 87km)
  6. Odawara > Shinjuku(jr): ¥1,450 (59mins, 87km)
  7. Shinjuku(jr) > Hakuba: ¥11,370 (335mins, 365km)
  8. Hakuba > Shinjuku(jr): ¥8,270 (277mins, 284km)

JR ticket cost: ¥39,870 for 8 legs

As you can see you'll make savings with a 7 day pass, but this will not fit all your travel in. I recommend a 14 day pass if you think you'll do more JR travel (for example a day trip to Hiroshima or Nikko), but if your travel is decided then I think purchasing individual tickets is best. For Hakone I recommend the Hakone Free Pass which you can purchase at Shinjuku station.

Hope this helps!

Thank you so much for your quick answer. It helps!
