I have arriving Osaka on 11 June 9am . Planning to visit Kyoto on 13 June and then visit Tokyo from June 14-18 and fly out from Haneda airport on 18 June 5pm. should I buy the 7 days pass?
Should I buy the 7 days pass?
Hi,
Unfortunately for a one-way itinerary like yours a 7 day pass would not pay off. You can pay for regular fare tickets --see fares and schedules on Hyperdia -- or get a cheap air ticket on a low cost carrier like Jet Star or Peach.
Best of luck.
Thanks for your quick reply.
My spouse will be coming in from Narita to join us for the visit. Hence, Narita - Shin Osaka - Kyoto - Tokyo - Narita. With 2 way route, he should buy the 7 days pass?
Hi,
If he uses the Pass for the Narita Express in to Tokyo (or out of Tokyo) then a 7 day pass would pay off. You could also increase your savings with some good day trips to Nikko, or Himeji (with Japan's best castle).
If you don't have the Pass, you could get a regional pass like a Tobu Nikko Free Pass or for farther multiple trips near Tokyo, there is a JR Kanto Area Pass.
Near Kyoto, visiting Nara is also an excellent day trip - the Todaiji Great Buddha is a must see place.
Good luck!
