Hi there! We are traveling in april for the cherry blossom, and we wanted to visit tokyo, mt fuji and kyoto.

We have already reserved our hotels, but we are wondering about the JR pass. If we buy this pass we can use all the trains, and undergrounds? or where can we see a detail of all the services included if we purchase this pass?

We are staying in tokyo first for 3 nights, then we wanted to travel to Mt fuji and we booked a hotel in the area of Fujikawaguchiko, is there a train that is gonna take us anywhere near there? After that we wanted to go to kyoto from Fujikawaguchiko as well, is there a train to do that route?

Finally from kyoto we need to return to Haneda airport for our flight out, is there a train to do that route? Do you think the itinerary this way is ok?

I'll be looking forward for your answer. Thank you very much!

Hi Magali,

The JR Pass covers the full JR Network in Japan, this includes the hyper fast Shinkansen bullet trains, limited express services and local urban lines. Additionally, local JR buses are covered and the JR Ferry to Miyajima.

Other transport, like the Tokyo metro, buses by other companies and private railways are not included. We have a full map here with all services included.

Travel to Fuji is partly included, as the last part to Kawaguchiko is traveled on the Fujikyu train, which is a private railway. Details are here: http://www.jrpass.com/blogs/itinerary-tip-mt-fuji

You can travel back to Tokyo from Kyoto using the JR Pass, then use the JR Yamanote line and Tokyo Monorail for free using the JR Pass.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
