Hi,
We are planning to visit Japan in September, but we have a some questions before we buy the JR pass. Hope you don't mind :)

  1. We would like to know, if the tickets may arrive to a Fedex Adress in Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo Mexico.
Because where we live is an apartment on the 3rd floor and sometimes the mail does not arrive or someone can grab it and disappear.

  2. We WOULD LIKE TO GO 24 OR 25 DAYS TO JAPAN, AND THIS IS OUR PLAN. (MORE LESS)
    TOKYO 6 DAYS.
    KYOTO 4 DAYS.
START TO USE THE JR PASS WHEN WE WANT TO GO FROM KYOTO TO OSAKA.
OSAKA 3 DAYS NARA 3 DAYS HIROSHIMA 2 DAYS Kanazaw 3 DAYS , *TOKYO 3 DAYS. IN TOTAL, IT WOULD BE 14 DAYS, USING THE JR PASS AND THE REST DAYS WE WOULD LIKE TO BUY A SUICA CARD. AND A WILLER BUS. TO TRANSPORT FROM TOKYO TO KYOTO.

SO TAKING THIS INTO CONSIDERATION , WE WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF IT IS BETTER TO BUY THE 14 DAYS PASS AND TRAVEL TOKYO AND KYOTO WITH SUICA CARD, OR TO BUY THE 21 DAYS PASS, AND WHY ? (WE WANT TO SAVE MONEY AS MUCH AS WE CAN)

*FOR INSTANCE IF WE GO TO ALL THIS PLACES WE MENTIONED ABOVE, DOES THE JR PASS HAS FULL COVERAGE OF THE TRAIN AND SUBWAYS SYSTEM THERE?

*WHEN DOES THE JR PASS, STARTS TO RUN?, WHEN WE EXCHANGE IT, OR WHEN WE USE IT FOR THE FIRST TIME?? BECAUSE WE WANT EXCHANGE IT ONCE WE ARRIVE TO TOKYO, ( SO WE DONT HAVE TO LOOK WHERE WE CAN EXCHANGE IT IN KYOTO) BUT START TO USING IT, FROM KYOTO TO OSAKA.

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR TIME.
LOOKING FORWARD TO HEARING FROM YOU
KIND REGARDS
VALERY AND CHRISTIAN [😊]

Hello there,

1.) FedEx requires a signature for delivery. While it is hard to comment specifically on your address. You could call FedEx beforehand and set up delivery when it suits you, alternatively you could arrange for delivery elsewhere, such as at your office.

2.) The JR Pass is best used for longer routes. Such as travel to Osaka, Hiroshima, Kanazawa and Tokyo. All long travel between the cities you wish to travel to is included, as well as local JR lines. However other transport like the metro is not included. Since you are travelling so much, you could either use a 14 or 21 day JR Pass. The cost difference is only around yen13,060, which is less than one way Tokyo - Kyoto.

Trans start service around 6 am and stop at midnight. You can exchange the JR Pass at any of the big exchange stations and select your first day of use then, in other words you do not have to start using it right away.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
