Hi ,
I am planning to travel to japan. I will be landing on 15th April in Tokyo and will be in tokyo for 3 days. On 18th i will leave for Fuji by bullet train and stay overnight in Fuji. Then next day take bullet train from Fuji to Kyoto. will stay in kyoto for 2 nights and then take the bullet train from Kyoto to nagoya. Finally the last train will be from nagoya back to tokyo.

Please advise if it will be more economical to buy the 7 day pass or the 4 day flexi pass or buy tickets for individual rides?
Thanks.

Hi there,

It would indeed be economic to use a 7 day JR Pass for your travel.

All together your your itinerary would cost: 33520 JPY
Cost of a 7-Day JR Pass: 29110 JPY
Your savings with JR Pass: 4410 JPY

So in short, yes. Also the JR Pass can be used for JR local lines in Tokyo and Kyoto, adding even more.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
