Policy changes for travelling in the Hokuriku or Shin'etsu region

Hello,

I wonder if someone could help me.

I came across this page http://www.japanrailpass.net/topics/hokuriku_en.pdf
and I simply do not understand. It's a new policy for JR pass users traveling in the Hokuriku or Shin’etsu regions.

I plan on travelling from Kyoto to Kanazawa then Kanazawa to Nagano. I also plan on dropping by Takayama. Does it make a difference if I travel from Kanazawa to Takayma or Nagoya to Takayama? I mean in terms of what I'm covered or not covered by JR Pass?
I want to go to Matsumoto, Kiso Valley too. These are in Nagano.

Thanks for the help!

Hello Toyama,

The link you are referring to seems to return to http://www.japanrailpass.net and I am not sure what the problem could be? Personally I am not aware of any negative changes to the coverage of the JR Pass and travel to Kanazawa, Takayama, Nagoya and Matsumoto are all included with the JR Pass.

Hope this helps,
Daniel

Thank you Daniel.

I got worried when the article mentioned the areas that I wanted to go.

This is the page I was referring to

I hope you can see it now
