Hi, this is my first time visit to Japan and I am very confuse with the transportations. So, I need some advices for using JR pass or maybe other suggestions. Here is my plan in Japan, I will arrive in Osaka Kansai airport and will be leaving from Tokyo Narita airport.

Day 1: Osaka
Day 2 : Osaka
Day 3 : Osaka - Kobe (1 day trip)
Day 4 : Osaka - Kyoto (1 day trio)
Day 5: Osaka - Tokyo (Shibuya)
Day 6 - 7 : Tokyo (need to stay in Tokyo bcos I have appointment)
Day 8 : Tokyo - Mt. fuji and gotemba outlet ( 1 day trip)
Day 9 - 10: Tokyo area
Day 11: Go to Narita Airport

Plan to stay around Dotonburi area in Osaka and will stay around Shibuya station in Tokyo. Which one can I use JR pass?

Will appreciate you help :)

Hello there,

Looking at your itinerary, my advise would be to use normal tickets. A 7 day JR Pass would be useful if you made a return Tokyo - Osaka. When you come down to it, the amount of distance you cover not that much. Your first 5 days are all in the Kansai region, then you spend most days in Tokyo with one day trip to Gotemba. You could even visit Gotemba as stop over between Osaka and Tokyo to minimize travel.

Dotonbori is a great place to stay!

Hope this helps,
Daniel
