Hello there,

Let's have a look at your itinerary.

Check out of the hostel and travel to Matsushima. Visit Shiogama-jinja (shrine) close to Hon-Shioama Station. Take the Bay cruise & return to Sendai. Any other activity that I can do? I think that you will be pretty busy on this day, if anything, I would try out some of the local foods in Sendai (there is some crazy stuff there).

Visit Furano/Biei/Blue Pond/any other local place and return to Sapporo. (I wsa being told that JR Pass is not valid on this line, is it?) The JR Pass is valid on all lines in Hokkaido and these cities can be visited using the JR Pass. If you have time, then you could add in a visit to Asahikawa too.

Local sightseeing and Return flight to Manila (what can i do on this day that utilises my JR Pass?) How much time do you have? Its always easy to hop on the JR Yamanote line and explore some of the main area's of Tokyo. If you have a bit more time, then you can add a trip to Yokohama or Kamakura.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
