Obon - Green or Ordinary?

Thank you Daniel!

So you think despite Obon season, Ordinary should be ok as long as we reserve.

Considering that we are 4 adults traveling with 3 kids (ages 5, 8, 10), would you think it's necessary to consider Green during this season? Worth the extra expense, you think???

Hi Perina,

Yes reserving seats 2 days or so in advance is a much better way to secure tickets than traveling by Green car. Even with a bigger travel party.

However I do think that it would be worth it to consider traveling by Green Class for the extra quiet it offers. Obon can be very busy and traveling Green Class is just much much more relaxed.

Hope this helps

Daniel,

Then is it also less need to reserve seats with Green?! Since they are seldom filled up? It would certainly be an advantage if we can skip the seat reservation process but still be quite confident that there would not be a problem with having seats for our party of 7. Please advise. Thank you!

Hi Perina,

All Green Seats are reserved seats, so you'll have to get tickets beforehand. During Golden Week Green Class can also be sold out, so even there would I recommend making seat reservations a day or two in advance.

Does that answer your question?
-Daniel
