Hi There,
I will be travelling to Japan in November and was wondering if buying a JR Pass or buying single trip tickets would be a cheaper option. My current itinerary is as follows:

Nov 18th to 25th- Arrive Osaka, during this period, Visit Osaka and day trips to Hiroshima and Kyoto.
Nov 26th- Travel to Tokyo using Shinkansen
Dec 5th- Leave from Narita Airport

If I travel to Hiroshima, Kyoto and Tokyo within 7 days, then it may be viable to purchase a 7 day JR Pass.

Thanks
Andy

Hi,
If you can go to Hiroshima/Miyajima and back, plus make it up to Tokyo within 7 days, you can get some good savings using a JR Pass.
You could even expand your savings by going a bit further to see Iwakuni with its iconic historical bridge and mountaintop castle, the Kosanji Temple which is an often overlooked gem in Onomichi, Hiroshima Prefecture, or going to see Himeji which has Japan's best castle.

In the Tokyo area, if you are going to spend about 9 days there, you can use a JR Kanto Area Pass to see several good locations such as Nikko, Karuizawa, Kusatsu, or Izu. Hakone also makes a nice day trip and you can save a lot with a Hakone Free Pass.
