Hi there,

I recommend you use the JR Narita Express to get to Shibuya station, and then use the non-JR Keio line to Shimokitazawa (¥120). Here's a sample itinerary for you. The journey should take around 1hr 20m.

Hope this helps!

Hi there,

Most JR trains do not operate during the night (except sleeper trains). In general you should expect JR services to stop around 11-12pm and start at 5-6am. Be careful especially of long distance bullet trains. For example the last bullet train to leave Kyoto for Tokyo departs at around 8:30pm (getting into Tokyo at around 11:00pm).

Hope this helps!

since our flight reaches only by 8.30 ..after baggage pick up & immigration ,in case we cannot make it to the last Narita express at 21.40(i checked the train timings) ,is there any other option ?
i also checked the airport limo ,but the last one to shibuya is at 21.00

and thanks Mari for your help so far .

Hi there!

If you miss the Narita Express, then I recommend you aim for the Keisei Skyliner into Ueno station at 22:29. From here you should be able to use the metro or JR lines to Shibuya, and then the Keio to Shimokitazawa. Here's a full itinerary for you. Note that the Keisei will not be covered by the JR Pass, but will get you into town.

If you do need to get this, you should consider buying the Keisei + Metro Pass deal and then maybe activating your rail pass in Shibuya or Shinjuku station during the following days as the JR Pass exchange office can be busy at Narita.
