JR West Pass for Kyoto-Fukuchiyama

Hi,
A Kansai Area Pass only goes as far as Sonobe. A Kansai Wide Area Pass will go up to Fukuchiyama but unless you travel more elsewhere, it will not be worth the cost.

Like you said, I don't think buying the Kansai Wide Area Pass would worth it for just this trip since I want to go more elsewhere.

I will land at KIX early morning of May20 and will also leave from KIX on the night of May30. So, I will have a total of 11 full days to be in Japan.

However, my destinations are quite far from each other...

Places that I'd like to visit are Universal Studio, Arashiyama, Fushimi Inari, Amanohashidate, Shirakawago, Kamikochi, Kawaguchiko, Shibazakura Site near Mt Fuji, and Tokyo (Akihabara, Asakusa, Odaiba, Tsukiji fish market).

Questions are:

1 Would you recommend a Japan Rail Pass for this trip?
2 Which destination should I cut off to make the trip less hassle and more cost-saving?

If you can travel from Osaka to Shirakawago/Takayama/Gokayama to Tokyo and back to Osaka within a week, then a 7 day pass would pay off. If you don't want to do this, some regional passes like those above as well as a Takayama-Hokuriku Area Tourist Pass would help.
All the places you mention are good and worth seeing, but if you were forced to trim your plans, the first one might be Kamikochi.
