Hi All,

We would be travelling this April in Japan. I've checked the train map guides however, I'm still confused which trains can I use the JR pass.

I've asked Google maps which trains will I use to reach our destinations. Can anyone please confirm if the following trains honors the JR pass.

April 11 - arrival in Kansai International Airport, arrive at apartment near Meguro Station, sightseeing in Shibuya
Possible trains to be used:
1. JR Haruka - JR pass 2. Tokaido /sanyo shinkansen - JR pass 3. JR Yamnote - JR Pass

April 12 - Sightseeing in Tokyo - Yoyogi Park, Imperial Palace, Akihabara
Possible trains to be used:
1. JR Yamanote - JR Pass 2. Chiyoda Line - not JR pass

April 13 - Sightseeing in Tokyo - Tsukiji Market, Hama Rikyu Garden, Sumida Park, Ueno Park

Possible trains to be used:
1. JR Yamanote - JR pass

April 14 - Sightseeing in Tokyo - Disney Sea, arrive in apartment in Kyoto.
Possible trains to be used:
1. JR Yamanote -JR pass 2. JR Keiyo -JR pass 3. Tokaido / Sanyo shinansen - JR Pass

April 15
1. Kiyomizu-dera
2. Maruyama-koen Park
3. Chion-in Temple
4. Shoren-in Temple
5. Nishiki Market
6. Fushimi Inari Taisha
7. Shinbashi-dori
Possible trains to be used:
1. Keihan main line - not JR Pass

April 16
1. Tenryu-ji Temple
2. Bamboo Forest
3. Okochi-Sanso Villa
4. Kinkaku-ji Temple
5. Daitoku-ji
6. Toko-in Temple
Possible trains to be used:
1. JR Sanin Main Line - JR pass

April 17
1. Sightseeing in Nara
Possible trains to be used:
1. JR Nara - JR pass

April 18
1. Sightseeing in Himeji
Possible trains to be used:
1. JR Tokaido / Sanyo Main Line - JR Pass

April 19
1. Flight out of Osaka

1. JR Haruka - JR Pass

You can use the JR Pass on all the JR lines, but not for non-JR lines, city subways, etc. The info you listed is correct.

But the real question I want to ask is, why don't you fly into Tokyo instead of taking the train all the way up there?
