jr pass or kansai pass or just buy separate train tickets

Hi!

Will be travelling to Japan for 9 days, here is our itinerary, I'm confused if it will be feasible to buy a JR Pass or a Kansai Pass or just buy one-way train tickets? Any suggestions will be highly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Day 1 - arrive in Narita Airport
Day 2 - hotel shuttle bus to and from Disney Sea
Day 3 - hotel shuttle bus to and from Disney Resort
Day 4 - joining a tour to Mt. Fuji, bus rides included
Day 5 - stroll around Tokyo
Day 6 - travel to Osaka
Day 7 - Kyoto & Kobe day trip
Day 8 - stroll around Osaka
Day 9 - going back to homeland via Kansai Airport

Hi,
A 7 day JR Pass would not pay off for your itinerary. You could get regular tickets to make it down to Osaka/Kyoto, or you could a cheap 1000 yen bus to/from Narita and then fly down on a cheap air ticket on Jet Star or Peach.
As for a regional pass, it might just make sense. You should consider getting a JR Kansai Area Pass or a JR Kansai Wide Area Pass. If I were you, I'd consider changing things around a bit. For Day 6 go see Kobe and Himeji, which has Japan's finest castle. For Day 8, instead of Osaka, visit Nara which has a few of Japan's best places. Since you are already seeing Tokyo, you can largely skip Osaka during the day. After the temples of Kyoto close down around 5PM, you can zip over to Osaka for the evening. At night the city comes alive and has some great places to see, such as Dotonbori, plus the night views from the Umeda Sky Bldg, and Abeno Harukas Bldg are wonderful.

Good luck!
