Japan Rail Pass Day Validity

Hey!

What is a validity of 7 days pass? Is it 7 x 24 hours or is it for the starting date + 6 days. We will arrive to Narita in the evening so I would like to use the pass for travel to Tokyo but I want to know if this one journey "subtracts" one day out of validity or or just e.g. 6 hours if we stamp the pass at 6:00pm.

Thank you!

Jarda

Hello Jarda,

The JR Pass is valid for 7 days including the 1st day of use, no matter what time you start using it. So yes, it would subtract a day if you start using it at 6 pm.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
