Hi there,

1.) A JR Pass is a great if you make at least a return Tokyo - Osaka using the Shinkansen bullet trains. You only travel one. Even though you make a trip to Fuji, you'd still need a little more for a JR Pass to pay off.

You can use the JR Pass Fare Calculator to find an approximate ticket cost of a single route or even your full itinerary.

2.) Yes, though be sure to plan it in advance as transport can be a little confusing.

3.) Exploring Osaka sounds good to me, I'd include Shinsaibashi/Dotonbori/Namba/Shinsekai and visit Umeda if you still have time. You could also go to universal studio.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
