Is the Railpass a good choice for me?

Hello,

I'm going to travel to Japan in August (staying 1 week in Kyoto and then about 2 weeks in Tokyo).
I considered buying a Railpass mostly because of the Kyoto->Tokyo travel with the Shinkansen, but I realized that it may be cheaper if I just buy tickets separately.
And as far as I can I tell it's necessary to buy tickets for the Metro anyway, isn't it?

So, do you think the Railpass is a good option for me or should I instead buy the tickets separately?

Hello there,

I would stick with normal tickets for the above itinerary. The JR Pass would be a great option if you did a bit more Shinkansen travel but is not put the best use for a single Kyoto - Tokyo.

The Metro is not included, so you are right about having to buy tickets for that separately.

Hope this helps!
Daniel
