Hi Experts

I am traveling to Japan with my partner, will reach 5 July - 8 am and flight out at 12th July at 6:30 pm.
We intend to spend 3 nights in Tokyo, 3 in Osaka and 1 in Hiroshima (may be not, or 4 in Osaka) with a day trip to Kyoto. (tokyo-osaka-hiroshima-tokyo)
Would i really save in this sort of itinerary ?

Also my trip is 7nights and 8 days..... 5-12July, so I am not sure 7 day pass be valid or what is the workaround to save money in this situation.

Hi there,

You would be able to make some good savings with the 7 day JRPass.
Here's a little breakdown of ticket prices without the JR Pass.

Tokyo - Osaka ¥ 13,550
Osaka - Kyoto (return) ¥ 1,080
Osaka - Hiroshima ¥ 9,750
Hiroshima - Tokyo ¥ 17,850

This adds up to ¥ 42,230. A 7 day JR Pass is ¥ 28,300 so you would save at least ¥ 13,930. This is excluding any local travel you may do. You can also use the JR Pass to travel to the Airport.

I would recommend starting to use your 7 day JR Pass the 2nd day that you are in Tokyo and simply buy normal tickets the first day. This way you can cover all of your long and expansive travel.

I would recommend looking into a [Suica + Narita Express] ticket for the first day if you land @ Narita Airport.

I hope this helps!
-Daniel
