Hello. Can someone help me with this as I cannot find accurate train fare costs for all of my planned journeys?
Here is my itinerary -

Narita - Tokyo
Tokyo - Kawaguchiko
Kawaguchiko - Kyoto
Kyoto - Osaka
Osaka - Kansai

I will also be spending at least 3 days in each city (Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka) so will be using subways.

Thanks
Steve

Hi Steve,

The best option here is to just buy normal tickets, that is unless you return from Osaka/Kansai. As a basic rule, buying a JR Pass is worth considering if you make at least a return Tokyo - Kyoto/Osaka.

It is best to buy local tickets or local day passes, such as the Tokyo Metro day pass to cover local transport, in case you do not have a JR Pass.

Hope this helps,
Daniel

Hi Daniel

Thanks so much for your help. Really appreciate it.

So is it best to just buy tickets at my originating station on the day of travel? What about reserving a seat?

Cheers
Steve
