Hello!
It was indicated in Hyperdia that you can reserve seats for some trains. How do you reserve seats for trains? And carrying a JR Pass will mean reserving seats would be free, right?
Thank you so much!

Also, if I am to travel from Osaka to Kyoto and back, what kind of pass should I buy? I noticed there are East Passes and such.
Hi there,
Please see our guide on making seat reservations for all the details.
Osaka and Kyoto are very close. If your travel is limited between those cities than buying normal tickets is the way to go.
Hope this helps,
Daniel
Thank you so much! This has been very helpful.
Also, I meant Osaka to Tokyo. My mistake.
Hi again!
A return ticket Osaka - Tokyo is about the same price as a 7 day JR Pass. Basically you get 7 days of unlimited travel for the same price. I'd definitely recommend one if you make the return within 7 days!
