Hiroshima to Tokyo

Hi,

Im planning to get 7 day JR pass to travel from Tokyo to Hiroshima and back. However I noted that we are only allowed to use slower Shinkansen with the JR pass and also noted that the only trains available from Hiroshima to Tokyo is Nazomi trains which are not allowed in the pass . We are planning to go to Hiroshima and back to Tokyo on the same day . Please advice if there are other " non Nozomi " services available from Hiroshima , and if not I will have to cancel the JR pass and buy Nazomi tickets both ways.

Hello Sampath,

You can use the Hikari + Sakura Shinkansen from Tokyo to Hiroshima without any additional charge, it takes about 1h longer than the Nozomi. However just using a 7 day JR Pass for this trip is already 7,000yen cheaper than buying a normal return ticket Tokyo - Hiroshima + you get 6 other days of free travel.
