questions & answers: using the japan rail pass

haneda airport to sangubashi station

Haneda airport to Sangubashi station

Hey,

It's going to be my first time traveling to Tokyo. Im a little confused and was wondering if anyone could help. Would a JR Pass allow me to travel from Haneda airport to Sangubashi station by rail? Or will I have to buy separate tickets to get on the Odakyu line to / from sangubashi to a JR station like Shinjuku??

Thanks!

Hello there,

Sangūbashi is on the Odakyu Odawara Line, which is a non JR line. This means that you would have to buy an additional ticket for the Odakyu line.

The closest JR station is Hatsudai Station (about 1KM away).

Hope this helps,
Daniel

Thanks!

So once I land in Haneda Airport, what route would you suggest to take from there to Hatsudai that will work with my JR pass?

Hi again!

Sorry I made a mistake in my last post, it should have been Yoyogi station on the JR Yamanote line.

Traveling to Yoyogi from Haneda Airport using the JRPass:

Use the Tokyo Monorail to Hamamatsucho (the last stop), transfer here to the Yamanote line and get out at Yoyogi (1 just between Shinjuku and Harajuku stations.

Hope this helps!
Daniel
