I've got a JRPass and I want to travel from Fukuoka to Kioto. How can I do that in a bullet train? I'm looking at hyperdia and I'm confused. Do I need to pay apart from the JR Pass to get the Shinkansen??

Thank you very much. I'm leaving tomorrow and I'm really worried if I can't get to Kyoto on time. As is just a two day trip to visit the city.

Hi there,

You can use the Sakura Shinkansen from Shin-Osaka to Hakata station (bullet train station for Fukuoka). To get to Shin-Osaka from Kyoto, either use a Hikari Shinkansen or rapid service. The full route is covered by the JR Pass.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
