Hi,
I am planning a trip visiting Kyushu, Kobe/osaka, and Tokyo and would believe a JR pass would be of great help.
Just would like to confirm if the JR pass also covers the limited express in Kyushu, such as "Aso Boy", I know from friends that Kyushu pass would cover that but I am not sure if it is also true for JR pass.

Yes the JR Pass covers all JR lines in Kyushu, including limited express trains such as the Aso Boy and Kyushu Odan Tokkyu.
