Can we use the 7-day pass for the Tokyo subway and travel to Osaka-Kyoto-Nara?

We have 8 days in Japan. We will land in Tokyo and would like to see Mt Fuji, UNESCO sites in Osaka-Kyoto-Nara areas. We probably will also use a lot of subways.

Is it worth it for us to buy the 7-day pass? Thanks.

Hi there,

The JR Pass is not valid on the metro or subway. However you can use the local JR network in both Osaka and Tokyo. This will allow you to access most of both cities.

See http://www.jrpass.com/map for the maps.

You can also use the JR buses in Kyoto with the JR pass.
