Best and easiest place to see Mt Fuji

Hi

I really want to visit Mt Fuji from Tokyo but only have a day to do so. using my JR pass which place do you suggest I see it from?

I hear Hakone is a good spot?

Hi there!

Hakone is really great, but is a little bit distant from Mt Fuji. For a closer view, you should try Kawaguchiko. To get to Kawaguchiko, you can use JR trains up to Otsuki station, where you will have to transfer to a non-JR line (the Fujikyu line) up to Kawaguchiko. Here's a sample itinerary for you.
