We are travelling from Narita to Kamakura 2 nights, on to Takayama and Kanazawa, perhaps to Matsumoto and finally to Kyoto. Would we able to cover this reasonably in 7 days and would a JR Railpass be worthwhile?
Many thanks!
7 day pass a good idea?
Hello there,
Let's have a look at ticket prices and find out if a JR Pass would be suitable for your travels.
Narita Airport - Kamakura ¥ 3,970
Kamakura - Takayama ¥ 14,710
Takayama - Kanazawa ¥ 4,290
Kanazawa - Kyoto ¥ 6,900
For a total of ¥ 29,870 the 7 day JR Pass is 29,100 yen so you would make small savings. In addition you can also use to JR Pass for travel to the airport or back to Tokyo. Also remember that with the JR Pass you just need one ticket for all your travel.
Hope this helps!
Daniel
