4 Days Kansai & 7 Days JR Pass for 14 Days Osaka-Kyoto-Nagoya-Tokyo

Hello.

I´m wondering about getting a 7 day JR pass and a 4 day Kansai pass for the following itinerary:

Day 1 21 Dec 2014 : Arrive at Osaka Itami and go to Osaka city
Day 2 22 Dec 2014 : Osaka
Day 3 23 Dec 2014 : Osaka (Start of 4 Days Kansai Pass)
Day 4 24 Dec 2014 : Osaka to Kyoto
Day 5 25 Dec 2014 : Kyoto
Day 6 26 Dec 2014 : Kyoto
Day 7 27 Dec 2014 : Kyoto to Nagoya (Start of 7 Days JR Pass)
Day 8 28 Dec 2014 : Nagoya
Day 9 29 Dec 2014 : Nagoya to Tokyo
Day 10 30 Dec 2014 : Tokyo - Day trip to Nikko or Kamakura
Day 11 31 Dec 2014 : Tokyo - Day trip to Yokohama
Day 12 01 Jan 2014 : Tokyo
Day 13 02 Jan 2014 : Tokyo
Day 14 03 Jan 2014 : Tokyo to Narita Airport

Does the Kansai Pass and JR Pass cover the local transportation in the respective cities?

Appreciate your help

Hi there,

I would advise buying normal tickets in the beginning instead of the Kansai Pass. The pass is only useful when used for travel between several cities within Kansai. However travel from Osaka to Kyoto is only 560yen. Also local travel such as the bus and metro are not included in it, so it's not a very handy pass.

The 7 day JR Pass does cover JR Lines in Tokyo, which will get you to most places in Tokyo. Other transport such as the metro is not included.

Hope this helps!
