Hi,

We will be going (two people) to Japan next month.

If i were to use the JR pass, it would be from Narita - Tokyo - Kyoto - Osaka - Tokyo - Narita.

Is it worth it to purchase the JR pass for the five trips above? And does it cover the locations above?

And if purchased, can i use the JR pass to travel within each city? Or do you purchase a separate ticket for the Tokyo metro for example?

Thanks for your help

Hi there,

Yes a 7 day JR Pass is worth it (meaning that you will make savings compared to purchasing normal train tickets), given that you can make the return to Tokyo within its validity period.

The JR Pass covers travel between all these places but you may still have to buy tickets for local travel, such as the Tokyo Metro or Kyoto city bus.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
