HI i recently bought 4 tickets for myself and hubby and children aged 6 and 10. however, i still have 2 more kids who are 4 years old and 2 years old. does it mean that these 4 year old and 2 year old children are free? and if yes, do they have seats when we go because we will also be bringing them. thanks.
2 kids below 6
Yes the 4 and 2 year olds are free - but not entitled to seats, officially. Of course if there is space on the train then they can sit away to their heart's content.
Hi there,
We asked JR directly and children 5 or below are allowed to travel for free but you will have to take them on your lap if trains are busy, as they are now entitled for a seat. There's also a limit of one child per traveling adult.
Hope this helps,
Daniel
