Hello

We will stay 15 days in Japan, arriving on 21 October, and staying 5 days in Kyoto in the middle of my stay, and staying only in Tokyo the remaining days
We are 3 adults
I would like to know what is the most interesting deal : 14-day pass or 7-day pass to be used in the middle of the stay mainly as a return ticket to travel to and from Kyoto, using another type of ticket to travel in the Tokyo underground (suica card?)
Many thanks in advance
Best regards
Eric

Hi Eric,

I would advise going for the 7-day JR Pass. This because the JR Pass is great for longer distances but when you stay local, in Tokyo for instance, it is better to buy local tickets.

With the 7-day JR Pass you will be able to make the return Tokyo Kyoto and do some additional travel too, for instance a day trip from Tokyo to Nikko.

Getting a Suica pass for your travel in Tokyo is a good idea, it is a very convenient way to get around. In addition there's a great deal available from [Suica & N'EX]. Where you get a discounted ticket for the Narita Express and a pre loaded Suica card.

I hope this helps,
Daniel
