Hi there Linghui!

Looking at your planned itinarary I think that it would be best to stick with normal tickets as you travel. The JR Pass is great if you visit different regions in Japan. Your main travel consists of the part Tokyo - Osaka, both Hakone and Nagoya are direct stops on the Tokaido Shinkansen line which connects Tokyo with Kyoto and Osaka.

For your 1st day in Tokyo consider buying an all day Metro Pass which is one of my favorite ways to explore Tokyo and costs just 710 yen. It allows for unlimited travel on a single day so you can make good savings with it.

Have a great trip!

Hi Again,

With normal tickets, I mean just buying train tickets when you travel. For instance when you travel from Tokyo - Hakone simply go to the trains station and buy a train ticket for that part. The JR Pass basically is one ticket and thus you would not have to buy ''Normal tickets'' if you have one.

Does that makes sense?
