Hi Jim!
You would make the following savings with the JR Pass over normal tickets (giving that you will do all travel within 14 days).
Narita - Tokyo ¥ 2,740
Tokyo - Takayama ¥ 14,000
Takaayama - Kyoto ¥ 9,380
Kyoto - Nara ¥ 690
Nara - Osaka ¥ 780
Osaka - Kyoto ¥ 540
Kyoto - Hiroshima ¥ 10,590
Kyoto - Hakone (Odawara station) ¥ 17,330
Hakone - Tokyo ¥ 3,440
Tokyo - Narita ¥ 2,740
This adds up to ¥ 62,230 or ¥ 17,130 in savings as the 14 day JR Pass is ¥ 45,100. You can also use the JR Pass on local JR lines in Tokyo, adding even more to your savings. In addition you won't have to buy a new ticket every time you travel.
