Will a JR Pass be worth it with our itinerary?

Hello, we're going planning to go to Japan this September.

This is our itinerary:
- We will arrive Japan through KIX in Osaka - But we will stay in this hotel in Yokohama (Kanagawa-ken, Kawasaki-shi, Saiwai-ku, Tsukagoshi, 4 Chome) to be with a friend for 6 days - We plan to tour Tokyo for that 6 days - And then we will go back to Osaka for our departure back to our country.

Will a JR Pass be worth it? How much savings could we get and would JR Pass be really of help?

Hoping to get some wisdom on our situation :)

Thanks!

Hi there,

A 7 day JR Pass would be worth it if you make the return Kansai - Tokyo within 7 days. This because the JR Pass is roughly the same price as a normal return ticket. Now you get 7 days of unlimited travel for the same price. You can use the JR Pass to travel between Yokohama and Tokyo, as well as on local JR lines in both cities.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
